March Review – Back 2 Lays

By | Uncategorised | No Comments

March Review - Back 2 Lays

March 2021 Back 2 Lay Review

We post daily lists inside our members community with shortlists on potential Back 2 Lay trades, these are not definitive lists but help give our members a nudge in the right direction with a view to using our tools to look at each selection in more detail or generate their own lists to then execute a Back 2 Lay trade.

If you are not familiar with Back 2 Lays please check out our guide by clicking the button below.

We do not recommend trading these lists blindly but will keep a record of their performance to see how the results stack up.

So how did our Back 2 Lay lists provided to our members perform during March?  Find out below.

Close List

The close list is a list of runners that almost but not quite made it onto our Main List.

DOB (Double Or Bust)
Total Selections = 172
WIN = 94
P/L = +16
S/R = 54.65%

TOB (Treble Or Bust)
Total Selections = 154
WIN = 56
P/L = +14
S/R = 36.36%

QOB (Quadruple Or Bust)
Total Selections = 148
WIN = 41
P/L = +16
S/R = 27.7%

Across all methods this would have generated 46 points profit across the month when trading blindly, with a little bit of additional work these results are easily improved upon with some members now achieving 60-80% success rate to DOB

MAIN List

The MAIN list is a list of runners that have performed very well in running using our basic filter

DOB (Double Or Bust)
Total Selections = 110
WIN = 52
P/L = -6
S/R = 47.27%

TOB (Treble Or Bust)
Total Selections = 101
WIN = 28
P/L = -17
S/R = 27.72%

QOB (Quadruple Or Bust)
Total Selections = 86
WIN = 17
P/L = -18
S/R = 19.77%

Across all methods this would have generated a loss of 41 points  across the month when trading blindly, and gives us our 1st losing month since being recorded.  Although anyone who prefers to punt the list would have shown a profit of +34.38 points – strange month!

Safe to say not the greatest month but with a little bit of additional work these results are easily improved upon with some members now achieving 60-80% success rate to DOB

MAIN LIST = -41pts

CLOSE LIST = +46pts

As the above shows February was not a bad month at all and March is already in profit but we will be back with a March update early April

Running Totals

MAIN List = +124pts (Since Oct 20)

CLOSE List = +93pts (since Jan 21)

Match Preview: FC Porto v Chelsea

Form Guide:

FC Porto looking to have the last laugh against misfiring Chelsea FC

FC Porto host Chelsea on Wednesday with a massive chip on their shoulder. The club officials sat bemused and probably, a little embarrassed during the Champions League quarter-final draw. They had to watch the Chelsea delegates slap each other on the back and celebrate their “good fortune” in drawing FC Porto.

Ironically, FC Porto has more Champions League clout than Chelsea as two-time winners, Chelsea, has won the competition once. Jose Mourinho, the manager during their 2004 triumph, went on to begin his tenure as the “Special One” at Chelsea the following season but was unable to bring them
continental glory despite a considerable budget.

Despite domestic struggles that see them trailing Sporting Lisbon by eight points and suspensions to influential players, the Dragões remain highly motivated to challenge Chelsea at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in Seville, Spain. Manager Sergio Conceicao and his team will be looking to teach Chelsea a
lesson in humility and continue the recent trend of an unfancied team reaching the semi-finals.

Chelsea tasted some humble pie with a shocking defeat to relegation fighting West Brom last weekend. Despite his tactical nous and defensive solidity, Thomas Tuchel has struggled to get his team to score more goals. Chelsea, in 5th place, now find themselves in a dead heat race with as
many as seven other teams for the final Champions League berth in the EPL. Chelsea may have to win the current Champions League competition to qualify for next year’s edition.

Chelsea have won five of the eight encounters with FC Porto. Thomas Tuchel is also seeking to become the first manager to win the first three knockout stages matches after taking over a new club since Roberto Di Matteo winning run with Chelsea. FC Porto have also failed to win five of the six quarter-final matches since they last won the Champions League.

Porto will miss Mouhamed Mbaye with injury, while Sérgio Oliveira and Mehdi Taremi serve suspensions. N’Golo Kante is out injured for Chelsea while Christian Pulisic faces a fitness review.

Porto will line up with the traditional 4-4-2. They will look to be compact and retain discipline. It has been very taxing on the players when they lose a teammate during games. In Mariga, who leads the line, they have a player with pace and strength who can hold up the ball and link play. Chelsea linked Jesus Corona will use his speed and creativity to cause trouble for the Chelsea defence.

It is debatable how many players will be missing for Chelsea because more than one managers have described N’Golo Kante as operating like two players. He is so adept at breaking down the opposition’s attacks. Like he was on Saturday, he will again be a big miss. Tuchel will ask his team to
be compact and use his fullbacks to create space on the flanks. Chelsea will press the ball, but Porto will likely sit deep due to their central defender’s slowness. Playing Giroud as a target man would be Tuchel’s best bet to break down Porto. He will hold up the ball and link play with Werner, Mount, Ziyech and Havertz.

Porto have a big point to prove, and they showed against Juventus that you should never write them off. In the absence of Kante, they will have opportunities to get at the Chelsea defence. Look for Porto to win by a 2-1 margin.

Prediction: FC Porto 2:1 Chelsea

Match Preview: Bayern Munich v PSG

Form Guide:

PSG Out for Revenge Against Lewandowski-Less Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich extended their Bundesliga lead to 7 points with a 0-1 victory away to Leipzig. Their second clean sheet in nine games will mean a lot to Hans Flick who must have been concerned about his team’s struggles to keep things tight at the back. He knows that when PSG visit the

Allianz Arena this Wednesday they not only welcome one of the worlds most potent attacks, Bayern also welcome their second greatest rival in European competition. A Team seeking revenge after losing the 2020 Champions League Final to them in the closest of encounters by a 1-0 scoreline. A result that could have been so different had Les Parisians taken their chances. FC Hollywood have won the last three home games over PSG, they hope to become only the second team to go 20 games unbeaten, after Manchester United in the history of the Champions League.

Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG team have fallen to second place, fresh off a 0-1 home loss to Lille, who now lead them by 3 points. If PSG lose their next Ligue 1 match they could find themselves in the unthinkable position of fourth place, a Europa League spot. Surely PSG would not have to win the current Champions League to guarantee qualification for next year’s edition of the competition. Despite the domestic “struggles” of PSG” experts know that European football is different.

Pochettino will not be short of facts to motivate his team going up against the Bavarians. Only Real Madrid (ten defeats) have inflicted more defeats on Bayern than PSG (five defeats) in the Champions League. PSG also lead the head to head with Bayern having only four wins compared to  five PSG wins. The 1-4 masterclass at the Camp Nou without Neymar shows that PSG can get revenge at Bayern.

With Douglas Costa , Robert Lewandowski  and Corentin Tolisso unavailable for Bayern due to injury, It could be Eric Choupo-Moting, who leads the line for Bayern. How different things could have been had he scored his chances against Bayern in last year’s final.

Leandro Paredes is suspended, but Marco Verratti and Bernat miss the game due to injury. Danilo, Alessandro Florenzi Mauro Icardi and Layvin Kurzawa all face late fitness tests.

Both teams  play a similar 4-2-3-1 formation, they both have pace in wide areas with fullbacks that love to get forward, tricky wide forwards and skill and creativity in the middle. Bayern possess a stronger aerial threat on Muller and Choupo-Moting. Athletic, Tough tackling, ball players shield the defense in a defensive double pivot. Both teams play a possession game and can also counter attack with lightning pace.

With quality players in every position It will again be fine lines again that decide this encounter. PSG have the advantage of the absence of Bayern talisman Lewandowski. PSG though have more key players out that will weaken their midfield.

Bayern have enough quality to win the game at home with the available players, but PSG have the attacking quality to win away at Bayern. It will be a close encounter, look for a 2-2 draw.

Prediction: Bayern Munich 2:2 PSG
